GEMS: Coping With Amber Distress (Recorded Webinar)
This is the eighth of twelve recorded webinars in the Getting Connected: Building Skill to Support GEMS® webinar series with Teepa Snow. This series focuses on enhancing interaction skills and appreciating the many changes that the person living with dementia is likely to be experiencing. When someone is in an Amber state, they are living in the moment and driven by sensory needs, while often experiencing sensory intolerance. In this session, learn how these challenges of the Amber state often create conflict in one’s relationships and make it extremely difficult to complete tasks. Help build your skills in deciphering what may be contributing to the challenging situation and offer alternatives that to improve interactions.

- Discuss factors that may contribute to feelings of distress for an individual living in an Amber state
