I retired from the medical industry in 2016 after having spent over 35 years in organ transplant and biomedical acquisition and sales. I then worked two years with Senior Helpers, a company that provides at-home care. This is where I first became acquainted with dementia. Later, my mother-in-law was diagnosed with Alzheimer's and our family cared for her until a fall caused an injury that took her life. I decided to take the PAC Certified Trainer course to gain better knowledge about dementia so that I would be able to offer some guidance to other friends and family who were trying to manage caring for someone with dementia. Teepa Snow has extraordinary knowledge, experience, and skills which she graciously shares via several different educational venues so that we all are better equipped to appropriately interact with those who have dementia. Applying proven techniques provides a safer and more comfortable journey for everyone.
