Master Class: Straight Talk About Power of Attorney
November 9th, 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm ET
When someone is living with brain change, there are many issues to consider, including the need to designate those who are able to make decisions on behalf of the individual in a wide variety of potential and very real situations over time. Providing support for someone that takes into consideration their previous thoughts, beliefs, and practices combined with the current situations, options, and status can be overwhelming and problematic without the right framing and support.
In this Master Class, Teepa will explore the different types of legal and medical power of attorney, essential information about effectively designating these individuals, considerations of how to best support the wishes of the person living with brain change, and tips for making these transitions as smooth as possible.
The Master Classes are three hours in length and designed to provide opportunities to improve interactions with individuals who are living with various forms of brain change. Each session will focus on ways to use the abilities and interests of those living with brain change for more positive experiences. We will seek to recognize the power we have to make a difference for all involved, expand our collective knowledge, and build our skills in creating and delivering programming and opportunities that make life more valuable and enjoyable for all involved, while fostering preserved abilities and promoting physical and emotional resilience.
