New for Positive Approach to Care in 2022

By Amanda Bulgarelli, COO
If 2021 has taught us anything at Positive Approach to Care, it’s that our vision, mission, and services for dementia care are needed and in great demand.

Positive Approach to Care® (PAC) Vision
Positive Approach to Care enhances life and relationships of those living with brain change by fostering an inclusive global community.
Until There's A Cure, There's Care.

Positive Approach to Care® Mission Statement
Using our talents and abilities to develop awareness, knowledge, and skill with all people, that will transform what exists into a more positive dementia care culture.
Changing Dementia Care, One Mind At A Time.

To meet our growing audience where they are, we have streamlined our PAC Training and PAC Certification Courses this year. The world of dementia care must change, and you can help us do that. Our biggest goal this year is to make PAC Training and Education available to everyone who has a relationship with dementia. You can now find us on all social media platforms, and you can always request more or different information. No matter your relationship with dementia, we seek to support you.

Here is a little about how we are growing and changing:
1. Teepa Snow is setting down roots in Hillsborough, North Carolina! Creative Care Collaborative is a newly revamped non-profit that will provide services locally while providing training and learning opportunities internationally. Teepa is actively working with local agencies, providers, and the other members of the care community to expand what currently exists, into what would better meet the needs of those living with dementia, their families, and those who would provide services.

Contributions of time, knowledge, skill, and fiscal support are all part of the mix to promote culture change. Soltys Place, an Adult Day Health Program, is the first program to see the benefits of her support. We plan to provide training visits where you can learn from the best for free with a recommended donation amount.

Dementia at Dusk is another program offered in-person with a recommended donation and virtually for free on TikTok. Our goal is to increase interest and basic awareness about dementia, as well as seek donations to support the community and cultivate change.

The next program of focus is a Teepa Training Spot in the area. Creative Care Collaborative is looking for a location to offer classes immediately, with a goal of seeking donors to help build a state-of-the-art event, training, and filming location for Teepa and her PAC Team, as we move into meeting future needs.

Teepa will be actively involved in nine Certification Courses, leading two Master Classes, and speaking at our annual Conference in the Raleigh/Durham area in North Carolina:

March 30 – April 1: Trainer, Coach, Engagement Leader, Master Class

July 20 – July 22: Trainer, Consultant, Engagement Leader, Champion Teacher

November 13 – November 15: PAC Annual Conference How to Help! (Hybrid = Virtual + In-Person)

November 16 – November 18: Coach, Champion Course Teacher, Master Class

On Tuesdays in 2022 we will offer Virtual Private Champion Courses for our Comprehensive Training Organizations.

On Fridays, we will offer Virtual Champion Courses with PAC Mentors and Pin Check-Offs. Pin Check-Offs are an opportunity to work with a mentor to demonstrate your skills and earn a PAC Pin.

Finally, we have developed a new certification offering: PAC Champion Course Teacher Certification Course. This course will provide the knowledge and skills to co-lead courses that help others develop their PAC Champion skills.  Stay tuned for more details.
