This a virtual event.
COST: FREE! / START TIME: 3:00p EDT
This program was designed for people who have received a diagnosis of dementia. Teepa has created a forum for you to share your thoughts, questions and concerns. We want to know what's important to you so that we can share out with care partners. Please join us!
The right to drive is earned during adolescence for most people. It has a variety of social and fiscal responsibilities associated with it and allows the person a high degree of autonomy and independence. The symptoms of dementia gradually erode the person’s capacity for safe and effective vehicle maintenance and driving. This session will focus on early indicators of risk and highlight the importance of addressing concerns in proactive and healthy ways rather than avoiding the topic or creating high risk situations.
Discuss common symptoms of dementia that impact ability to drive safely and effectively in challenging situations as well as routine journeys
Discuss the value of routine evaluation of ability combined with development of alternate plans for community mobility when dementia has been identified
Compare various approaches to discussion and conversations related to driving
"No decision about me, without me."
We've heard many people living with dementia share their thoughts along the journey. In response to their request, Positive Approach now offers live webinar events for people living with dementia. Each interactive event will focus on a specific topic and include open discussions with the group.
Each session is being offered for FREE to those living with dementia. Participants must register to attend. Registration is limited. Registration for the live events includes access to the recording of the webinar. Recordings will be released within a week of the live event.
REGISTRATION FOR EACH EVENT WILL CLOSE 24 TO 48 HOURS BEFORE THE EVENT.
If you have questions or if you don’t see the topic you want to discuss and explore, please contact Corrie Phillips.
