Webinar:  Bathing - Getting Clean Issues (for Friends / Families)

Keeping yourself clean and fresh is actually a very complex task and serves several very different purposes. Dementia causes changes in perception, memory, sensory processing, mobility and dexterity, as well as perspective, personal values, and relationships that make this task a particular challenge. These webinars will explore the multi-factorial causes, explore possible alternatives and options, and offer specific interventions to optimize the probability of successful and adequate hygiene.

Objectives:

  1. Describe six possible components that impact bathing practice changes with dementia
  2. Explore possible modifications to expectations, task presentation and execution, time frame, and environmental supports.
  3. Discuss behaviors that are supportive versus confrontation when attempting to address and complete the intimate task of cleaning oneself.

Positive Approach now offers live webinar events for friends and families who are supporting their loved ones that are living with dementia.  These interactive events will focus on a specific topic and include open discussions with the group.

Cost per session is $10.00.  Participants must register to attend.  Registration is limited.  Registration for the live events includes access to the recording of the webinar. Recordings will be released within a week of the live event.

REGISTRATION FOR EACH EVENT WILL CLOSE 24 TO 48 HOURS BEFORE THE EVENT.
