One of America’s leading educators on dementia, Teepa Snow offers families and professionals working or living with dementia or other brain changes a new source of hope. Integrating what is now known about brain function and changes that happen with dementing conditions with her special therapeutic approaches, Teepa calls upon 30 years of work as a Registered Occupational Therapist, current medical research, and firsthand caregiving interactions to bring her Positive Approach® to Care techniques and training models to audiences throughout the world. With a teaching style that is extraordinarily unique, Teepa accurately demonstrates and models the struggles and challenges dementia creates for all parties involved. With her enlightening, witty, entertaining, and energetic delivery of this vital approach to dementia care, Teepa is a sought-after speaker by agencies and organizations across the U.S. and Canada.

Rather than focusing on a person’s loss when there is brain change, Teepa teaches how to see individuals as precious, unique, and capable — and how to encourage a caring partnership and supportive setting that allows everyone, including care providers, to use what they have to be their best. PAC teaches HOW to live in relationship with a changing brain. Teepa’s relational approach and hands-on skill techniques offer the interpersonal skills needed to improve quality of life for everyone involved.

Recognizing the dynamic nature of the human brain and its abilities, Teepa Snow’s GEMS® model equates each stage of dementia with a specific gemstone. Acknowledging that everyone’s abilities can change in a moment, the GEMS model will help you learn how to modify environments, situations, interactions, and expectations to create supportive positive opportunities for care and interaction.

Information about parking and check-in will be emailed to you after you register.
