Mary Donnelly

+ Support Mentor
+ Care Partner Support Series Consultant

Mary Donnelly first heard Teepa speak in 2005 and the experience set her on the path to  becoming a dementia educator.  In 2007, Mary founded the MemoryCaregivers Network, an auxiliary of MemoryCare, an Asheville NC nonprofit, to be a caregiver resource for support and  education.  She has served as the MemoryCaregivers Network Coordinator since 2010, facilitates four monthly support groups, edits an online bi-monthly newsletter, Caregiver  Network News, and is a frequent speaker on dementia issues. Her roles with PAC are as  Mentor/Trainer  and Recertification Coordinator.  Mary, a 1973 graduate of Presbyterian College in South Carolina, is also a Certified Validation Practitioner.  When she’s not working, Mary can often be found on a hiking trail in the Blue Ridge Mountains, or when weather permits, on cross-country skis.  Her vehicle’s license plate reads 02BNSNOW, a reference to two of her favorite things:  winter and Teepa!   She celebrates another favorite  – Krispy Kreme Doughnuts – by holding her birthday party at the local KK store every year.  Mary lives in Asheville, North Carolina, with her husband Tom and their Corgi/Sheltie, Sammy.
